Buying or selling a Vintage or Classic car
Buying and selling are two sides of the same coin. Buyers need to know how to assess a vehicle. Sellers need to know how to present their vehicle to maximise their price. Both sides need negotiation skills.
By attending this course, you will learn how to assess a car and understand the motivations, tricks and negotiating techniques of both buyers and sellers.

Caring for your Vintage or Classic car
The more you care for your car, the more reliable it will be, the more it will be admired and the more it will increase in value. This short course will teach you how to look after your car’s body and mechanicals and the symptoms that indicate the car requires professional attention.

Vintage and Classic Car Maintenance and Repair
This detailed course covers the 10 main areas for Maintenance and Repair
- Engines – how they work and how to fault find
- Brakes – which bits should you touch and which to leave to the experts
- Suspension – what are the signs that it needs attention
- Electrics – basic fault finding and why it is nearly always as earthing problem
- Steering – how to keep it sharp – or at least as sharp as 50-year-old technology can be!
- Automatic transmission – the tell-tale signs of problems
- Manual gearbox – spotting a good whine from a bad whine
- Cooling systems – the 3 key points to keep your car cool as a cucumber
- Wheels and tyres – profiles, compounds, offsets and stud patterns
- Bodywork – bog spotting and dodgy paint jobs

- Harry Houston – mechanic, mechanical engineer and teacher who has been restoring cars and building competition cars and kit cars since he was a little lad. Believe me, that was a long, long time ago!
- Keith Mcilroy – professional facilitator, trainer and self-taught mechanic. Keith is the founder of Vintage and Classic Car Hire. The 40 + vehicles in that fleet (some of which have done over 100,000 kms in the last 8 years) means he has experienced pretty well everything that can go wrong with an old car!

The Hub Workshop, Riverstone, NSW. Approx 45 minutes west of the Sydney CBD. and 10 minutes from the Heritage, craft town of Windsor where there is excellent accommodation for those of you wanting to make a weekend of it.
